Cattleya schilleriana Rchb.f 1857 is an epiphytic growing orchid species native to Brasil and has been named by the German botanist Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach in honour to Consul Schiller, a German orchid enthusiast from the 19. century. The beautiful, fragrant flowers reach a size of about 12 cm in diameter. Flowering period: Summer - Autumn.
Cattleya schilleriana orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The xmall sized orchid requires intermediate to warm temperatures and water about once a week. During the dormancy period in winter waterings should be restricted.
