Robert Allen Rolfe

Robert Allen Rolfe (1855–1921),
a british botanist specialised in Orchidaceae studies,
was the first curator of the Orchid Herbarium at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew
at the southwest of London,
which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2003.
There was quite some kind of resentment between Robert Allen Rolfe and the german botanist Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach,
which resulted in a vast number of multiple descriptions of orchid species.
Robert Allen Rolfe was the founder of the magazine “The Orchid Review”.
