Miniature Orchid Bulbophyllum capillipes

Bulbophyllum capillipes Parish & Rchb. f. 1874 is an epiphytic growing miniature orchid, native to North India (Assam), Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Thailand.


The single flowered inflorescence of the miniature orchid get a length up to 9 cm. Flowers get a size of about 1,3 - 1,5 cm. Flowering period: Spring - Summer. The small, subtropical orchid requires a cool - warm, humid climate, moderate light and a shady location. The miniature orchid should always be kept moist but not soggy and needs a good air circulation to avoid fungal infection.
Bulbophyllum capillipes orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival)
