Cattleya Kencolor, often named Laeliocattleya (LC) Kencolor Green Meadows is an epiphytic growing orchid hybrid, a crossing between Cattleya (Laeliocattleya) Kenosha (seed parent) and Cattleya bicolor (pollen parent).
Cattleya Kencolor “Green Meadows” has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 1962 by Clarelen orchids, an orchid nursery in Wisconsin, USA. The highly fragrant flowers of the stunning, green orchid hybrid get a size of about 10 – 15 cm in diameter. The tropical orchid hybrid requires cool – warm temperatures and regularly waterings about once a week. Like other Cattleya orchids, Cattleya Kencolor needs bright light to induce flowering, whilst the pseudobulbs are maturing. Cattleyas should be repotted every two years or before they grow out of their pot.
