The Grammatophyllum scriptum (Lindl.) Blume 1849 is a big,
epiphytic growing orchid species, native to the Philippines
and New Guinea. The Grammatophyllum scriptum orchid,
in common parlance called Bell Orchid and sometimes
misnomed as Tiger Orchid get inflorescenses,
which reach a lenght of about 1,50 meters
and shows up to 100 waxy flowers.
The single flower gets a size of about 4,5 cm
On the Maluku Islands, commonly known as Spice Islands
people use the seeds of the Grammatophyllum scriptum orchid
to produce an aphrodisiac.
