Angraecum Lemförde White Beauty

12/10/2012

Angraecum Lemförde White Beauty is a primary orchid hybrid, a crossing from the Angraecum species orchids Angraecum magdalenae (seed parent) and Angraecum sesquipedale (pollen parent).

The orchid hybrid has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by the German orchid nursery Lemförder Orchideenzucht in the year 1984. The beautiful pure white flowers of mature plants can reach a size up to about 14 cm and are highly fragrant at nighttime. Flowering period: late summer - autumn. As both parent orchids are native to tropical Madagascar, the epiphytic growing Angraecum Lemförde White Beauty requires a warm - hot and humid climate and cooler temperatures during the winter rest.
