Bulbophyllum nymphopolitanum Kraenzl. 1916 is an epiphytic growing orchid species native to the Philippines and belongs to the Bulbophyllum section Lepidorhiza.
The name of Bulbophyllum nymphopolitanum refers to the botanical garden Munich-Nymphenburg, Germany. The beautiful, but foul-smelling flowers reach a size of about 4 cm. Flowering period: Summer. Bulbophyllum nymphopolitanum is often confused with Bulbophyllum levanae Ames 1915, also native to the Philippines, but with bigger flowers. The tropical orchid is best cultivated in a warm - hot, humid climate and a shaddy - partial shaddy location with good air movement, to avoid fungal growth. Bulbophyllum nymphopolitanum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
