Bulbophyllum ovatum Seidenf.1979 is an epiphytic growing, miniature orchid, native to Thailand. Flowers are born on erect inflorescences, which get lengths up to 3 cm. The tiny, little flowers get a size up to just 0,5 cm across and are best viewed through a magnifying glass or a macro lens. Flowering period: Spring. Bulbophyllum ovatum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical miniature orchid requires warm – hot temperatures, a shady location and a good air movement to avoid fungal infections.During the growth season in spring and summer plants should be kept humid, but not wet, whilst during the dormancy period from autumn and winter Bulbophyllum ovatum plants should be kept slightly drier.
