Calanthe rosea (Lindl.) Benth. 1880

Calanthe rosea (Lindl.) Benth. 1880, in common parlance called The Pink Calanthe, is an epiphytic or terrestrially growing orchid species native to Thailand and Myanmar (formerly Burma).



The beautiful, pink flowers get a size up to about 7 cm. Flowering period: November. Calanthe rosea orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid requires intermediate to warm temperatures and a shady location.
