Cattleya Tainan City (formerly: Laeliocattleya (LC) Tainan City) is an epiphytic growing orchid hybrid, a crossing between Cattleya Royal Emperor (seed parent) and Cattleya Waianae Sunset (pollen parent). The showy red-yellow Cattleya hybrid has been developed and registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by Lia-Ching Chen in the year 1998. The fragrant flowers, with a pleasant spicy-sweet scent reminescent of cinnamon, get a size of about 13 - 15 cm in diameter. Flowering period: late Spring to early Autumn.
the oldest city in Taiwan, established by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century. The tropical orchid cultivar requires intermediate to warm temperatures and a sunny to partial shady location. Cattleya Tainan City should be kept moist, but not sogging wet.
