Cattlianthe Loog Tone (synonym: Laeliocattleya Loog Tone) is an epipytic growing orchid hybrid, a crossing between Cattlianthe Netrasiri Doll (seed parent) and Cattleya Thospol Spot (pollen parent). Cattlianthe Loog Tone (LC Loog Tone) has been developed and registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by the Thai orchid breeder T.Thongprasit. The highly fragrant flowers get a size of about 6 cm in diameter. Flowering period: Spring to Summer.
Single spikes may carry up to 6 waxy-looking flowers, which are very long-lasting.
Beside the remarkable yellow cultivar Cattlianthe Loog Tone “Golden Apple” with it´s red tongue and a very few red spots, there is a maroon-red variant, called Cattlianthe Loog Tone “African Beauty”. The tropical orchid hybrid requires intermediate - warm temperatures and bright light. During the growth season plants should be watered about once a week, whilst during the winter rest watering should be restricted.
