Dendrobium pendulum Roxb. 1832 is an epiphytic, occasionally lithophytic growing orchid species, native to India (Assam), Tibet, China (Hainan), Bangladesh, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
The fragrant flowers get a size of up to about 7 cm across. Flowering period: February - April. Dendrobium pendulum orchids are easily confused with Dendrobium gratiosissimum, which have smaller flowers. The tropical orchid requires a cool to warm, humid climate and medium light. Watering should be restricted during the winter rest until new growth appears. Dendrobium pendulum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
