Eria javanica (Sw.) Blume 1836 is an epiphytic, sometimes lithophytic, growing orchid specieswith highly fragrant flowers.Eria javanica orchids are native to India (Sikkim), South China,
Myanmar (formerly Burma), Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Guinea, the Philippines and Taiwan. Flowers get a size of about 4 cm. Flowering period: Spring to Summer. Inflorescences reach length up to about 60 cm and carry up to 50 flowers. Eria javanica orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid species requires warm temperatures and a shady location. Plants should be sparingly watered 2-3 times a week. The potting medium should dry out between waterings.
