Spathoglottis Heart’s Blood is a terrestrial growing ground orchid hybrid, a crossing between the species orchid Spathoglottis kimballiana (seed parent) and the hybrid Spathoglottis Premier (pollen parent).
The lovely ground orchid hybrid has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 2006 by E.Beltrame, an Australian orchid breeder. Spathoglottis Heart`s Blood flowers get a size of about 7-8 cm across and open successively. Flowering period: Spring – Summer. The ground orchid hybrid requires warm – hot temperatures and a location in full sun – partial shade. The roots should be kept moist, but not wet, during the growth season, whilst waterings should be restricted
during the winter rest.
