Ground Orchid Hybrid Spathoglottis Sunshine

Spathoglottis Sunshine is a primary ground orchid hybrid (terrestrial growing), a crossing between the Spathoglottis species orchids Spathoglottis affinis (seed parent)
and Spathoglottis plicata (pollen parent).


The beautiful ground orchid hybrid has been developed by the Burleigh Park Orchid Nursery in Townsville, Queensland, Australia and has been registered by Ted Green with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 1997. Flowers of Spathoglottis Sunshine get a size of about 4 cm in diameter. Flowering period: Summer - Autumn. The tropical ground orchid hybrid requires a warm – hot, humid climate and is best cultivated in full sun to partial shade.
