Hoya kerrii Craib 1911, also called Valentine Hoya or Sweetheart Hoya,
because of its heart-shaped leaves, has been found in the year 1911
by the Irish plant collector Arthur Francis George Kerr (1877–1942)
at Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai, North Thailand.

Single heart-shaped leaves of the Hoya kerrii in a pot are sold as Valentine or lover gifts, but it takes a long time, sometimes several years, until the leaves are growing. The Sweetheart Hoya, Hoya kerrii, is an easy to handle plant and is ideal for Hoya beginners.
