The beautiful waxflower Hoya lobbii Hooker f. 1883 has been named by the English botanist Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817 – 1911) in honour to its discoverer, the plant collector and botanist Thomas Lobb. Hoya lobbii is native to North India, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Thailand and loves a humid climate. The Hoya lobbii flowers have a sweet fragrance, which is reminiscent of French perfum. In its countries of origin Hoya lobbii is blooming during the rainy season from June to October. The tropical climber is available in different colours, like white, yellow, orange and red, requires a shady location and should be kept humid, but not wet. Hoya lobbii is considered as an easy-to-care plant and can be recommended
to Hoya beginners.
