Paphiopedilum Dollgoldi is a primary lady slipper orchid hybrid, a crossing from Paphiopedilum rothschildianum (seed parent) and Paphiopedilum armeniacum (pollen parent).

The golden-yellow, red striped lady slipper orchid hybrid has been registered with the Royal horticultural Society in 1988 by H.Doll. The terrestrial growing Paphiopedilum Dollgoldi requires cool temperatures and bright, diffuse light to partial shade, especially in winter. It`s considered, that plants cultivated in shade get a deeper flower colour. Flowering period: Spring. Like most lady slipper orchid hybrids, Paphiopedilum Dollgoldi needs regularly watering, but the well aerated potting mix should never be soggy. The supplied water shouldn`t have a temperature above 23° C. This stunning lady slipper orchid can`t be recommended for beginners, as it´s difficult to bring the plant to bloom.
