The pink spotted, epiphytic growing miniature orchid Bulbophyllum dentiferum Ridl. 1915 looks more like a sugar candy, than a real tropical plant. The cute, tiny flowers, with a length of just about 1,2 cm, are arranged in umbels, with up to 20 flowers on inflorescences, which reach a length up to 20 cm. Bulbophyllum dentiferum miniature orchids are native to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia and require a warm to hot, humid climate and a semi-shady place with good air circulation. Flowering period: April. The cute orchid species is often labeled as Cirrhopetalum dentiferum (Ridl.) Garay, Hamer & Siegerist 1994, which is just accepted as a synonym. Bulbophyllum dentiferum is protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
