Dendrobium ypsilon Seidenf. 1985 is an epiphytic growing miniature orchid species,
native to the South of Thailand.
Inflorescences carry up to 5 flowers. Flowers get a size of a bit more than 1 cm. Flowering season: Spring - Summer. Dendrobium ypsilon orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The miniature orchid requires a hot and humid climate. Dendrobium ypsilon has primarily been described and named by one of the most important researchers on Thai orchids, the Danish diplomat and botanist Dr. Gunnar Seidenfaden (1908-2001) and has been published in the Opera Botanica, the Danish, Nordic journal of botany in the year 1985.
