Orchid Hybrid Aliceara Winter Wonderland
06/03/2013
Aliceara Winter Wonderland White Fairy, often named Degamoara Winter Wonderland, which is just accepted as a synonym, is an epiphytic growing, intergeneric orchid hybrid, a crossing between Bratonia Cartagena (seed parent)
and Oncidium Gledhow (pollen parent).
The stunning orchid hybrid has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 1989 by Bee Lian Nursery CO.,LTD., a Thai orchid nursery in Nonthaburi, near Bangkok, Thailand. Flowers get a size of about 7 cm in diameter. Flowering period: Winter - Spring. Aliceara Winter Wonderland requires intermediate temperatures and a location in partial shade to full sun. The tropical orchid hybrid shouldn`t be overwatered to avoid root rot. Flowers of the orchid hybrid are sterile. Aliceara, abbreviated Alcra., is the nothogenus for intergeneric hybrids between the orchid genera Brassia, Miltonia and Oncidium, whilst Degamoara, abbreviated Dgmra., is the nothogenus for intergeneric hybrids between the orchid genera Brassia, Miltonia and Odontoglossum.
