Paphiopedilum barbatum (Lindl.) Pfitzer 1888 is a Lady Slipper or Venus Slipper orchid species, native to Malaysia and Thailand.


Flowers of the terrestrially growing Paphiopedilum barbatum reach a size of about 8 cm. Inflorescences get a length up to about 25 cm and carry just a single flower, ocasionally 2 flowers. Flowering period: Winter - Spring. Paphiopedilum barbatum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix I (threatened with extinction, trade only in exceptional circumstances). The lady slipper orchid requires a cool - intermediate, humid climate and a shady location.
