Spathoglottis plicata Blume 1825 is a terrestrial growing orchid species, native to Thailand, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Pacific Islands, India (Assam), Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Himalayas.



The non-fragrant flowers reach a size of up to 4 cm. Flowering Period: August - November Spathoglottis plicata orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid requires a warm - hot, humid climate and is best cultivated in full sun - partial shade.
