Thrixspermum congestum Dockrill 1967

Thrixspermum congestum (F.M.Bailey) Dockrill 1967 is an epiphytic growing miniature orchid species, found in New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Northern Australia.


Thrixspermum congestum flowers reach a size of just about 1,5 cm. Inflorescences get lengths up to about 20 cm and carry several, successively opening flowers. Flowering period: Winter. Thrixspermum congestum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid species requires warm - hot temperatures and a shady - partial shady location.
