Dendrobium anosmum Lindl. 1845 is a very large-sized, epiphytic growing orchid species, native to Thailand (called: Ueang Sai Luang), Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and New Guinea.

The big, highly fragrant and very beautiful Dendrobium anosmum flowers get a size up to 8-10 cm across. Flowering period: February - April. Flowers are born from the nodes of mature, leafless canes, which can reach lengths up to about 1,20 cm. Dendrobium anosmum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The impressive, tropical orchid requires warm to hot temperatures and a medium amount of light. Plants should be kept moist during the growth season, but quite dry during the winter rest until new grows appears. Dendrobium anosmum orchids are best cultivated in hanging baskets or mounted and as mature plants become very large, they will need a lot of space.
