Bulbophyllum palawanense

17/03/2012

Bulbophyllum palawanense Garay, a close relative of Bulbophyllum lobbii, has been named after the island of Palawan in the Philippines by the American botanist Leslie Andrew Garay (born 1924), but is still not accepted by the science of botany. The stunning, fragrant Bulbophyllum palawanense flowers get a size of about 10 cm. Under favourable conditions the epiphytic growing, tropical plant blooms several times a year.
