Ascocentrum Orchids

The orchid genus Ascocentrum has been established by the German botanist Rudolf Schlechter in the year 1914 and contains about 13 epiphytic growing orchid species, which are native to tropical Asia.
Ascocentrum orchids are widely used for hybridisation with Vanda orchids, which creates the orchid hybrid genus Ascocenda.
