Spathoglottis Orchids

Spathoglottis is a terrestrial genus of the Orchidaceae (Orchids) family with more then 60 known orchid species. The Spathoglottis species has been established in the year 1825 by the German-Dutch botanist Karl Ludwig Blume. Spathoglottis orchids are widely spread over Asia
and can be found in India, Burma (Myanmar),Thailand, Laos, South China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and also Australia. In Thailand Spathoglottis species orchids are called in common parlance “Ueang Din”, which means terrestrial orchid. The abbreviation in horticultural trade is: Spa.
