Oncidium Orchids

The orchid genus Oncidium whas been etablished by Olof Peter Swartz in the year 1800. The genus contains about 300 Oncidium species, which are mostly epiphyts. Beside Cattleya orchids and Dendrobium orchids, Oncidium orchids, native to tropical America and the Caribbian Islands, are the third well-liked orchids and widely use for hybridisation.
