Grammatophyllum Orchids

The orchid genus Grammatophyllum contains about 12 orchid species and has been established by the German-Dutch botanist Karl Ludwig Blume in the year 1825. The epiphytic, occasionaly lithophytic growing Grammatophyllum Orchids are native to South East Asia. The Grammatophylum speciosum used by Blume as the type species,
is known as the world´s largest and heaviest orchid. The abbreviation in horticultural trade is: Gram.
