Pleione Orchids

Pleione is a small orchid genus, containing just about 16 Pleione species. The Pleione genus has been established by the British botanist David Don in the year 1825. Pleione orchids, commonly called Tibet orchids, are native to the Himalayas, Nepal, North India, Burma (Myanmar), Thailand and Laos. The abbreviation in horticultural trade is: Pln.

Pleione praecox (Lindl.) D. Don 1825 is an epiphytic and lithophytic growing miniature orchid species with big, fragrant flowers. Pleione praecox orchids are native to India, Nepal, Southwest China, Burma (Myanmar) Thailand and Vietnam. Flowers can reach a size up to about 10 cm.
