Eulophia andamanensis Rchb.f. 1872 is a terrestrial growing orchid species, native to Thailand (especially Andaman Islands), Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia (Sumatra).
The erect inflorescences of Eulophia andamanensis orchids reach a height of about 20 cm and carry 10 - 15 flowers. Flowers get a size of 2,7 cm. Flowering period: May. While flowers don`t get exposed to full sun, they`ll get a mostly green colour, as seen on the first image below. Plants cultivated in full sunlight get a more yellow - brownish colour on the sepals and petals (2. image below). Eulophia andamanensis orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid requires a warm to hot, humid climate.
