Aerides odorata (Poir.) Lour. 1790 var. calayana is an orchids species
with highly fragrant flowers. The strong scent is reminescent of jasmine.
Aerides odorata are widely spread throughout Asia, especially South East Asia.
Because of the shape of its flowers, in Thailand Aerides odorata orchids
are shortly called “Krapao Pid”, closed bag.
Aerides odorata var. calayana inflorescences get a length up to 60 cm
and can carry up to 30 flowers.
Flowers get a size of 2,5 - 3,5 cm
