The Dendrobium miyakei Schlechter 1919 is an epiphytic growing Dendrobium orchid,
native to Taiwan and the Philippines. The orchid beauty has been named by
the german botanist Rudolf Schlechter in honour of the philippine
orchid enthusiast Miyasaki.
The beautiful flowers gets a size of about 1,25 cm
and is blooming several times a year (late winter - early spring, summer).
As the Dendrobium miyakei is scentless,
there is a similar plant, Dendrobium goldschmidtianum Kraenzl. 1909,
which is fragrant.
