The beautiful waxflower Hoya lobbii Hooker f. 1883 has been named by the English botanist Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817 – 1911) in honour to its discoverer, the plant collector and botanist Thomas Lobb. Hoya lobbii is native to North India, Burma (Myanmar) and Thailand and loves a humid climate. The Hoya lobbii flowers have a sweet fragrance, which is reminiscent of French perfum. In its countries of origin Hoya lobbii is blooming during the rainy season from June to October. The tropical plant is available in different colours,
like white, yellow and red.
