Hoya gracilis Schlechter 1908 is a tropical vine, native to the Philippines and Indonesia, to which region isn´t clearly certifiable.

In the year 1886 plant collectors found a Hoya gracilis near Tolisso, Sulawesi and handed the plant later on out to the German botanist Rudolf Schlechter. In 1906 Elmer Drew Merrill, an American botanist, found a similar plant at the island of Mindoro, Philippines, which has been classified by Schlechter as Hoya gracilis var. philippinensis. The tropical climber reaches lengths up to about 2,5 meters and is best cultivated in full sun - partial shade. The Hoya gracilis wax flower is considered as an easy to care house plant.
