17/06/2013

Dendrobium cerinum Rchb. f. 1879 is a middle-sized, epiphytic growing orchid species, native to South East Asia from Thailand throughout the Malay Peninsula
to the Philippines.

The greenish-yellow, waxy flowers get a size of about 3 cm in diameter.
Flowering period: Spring - Summer.
Dendrobium cerinum orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
The tropical orchid requires an intermediate - warm, humid climate and is best cultivated in partial shade to full sunlight.
Plants should be kept moist, but not wet, during the growth season, whilst waterings should be restricted during the winter rest, until new growth appears.
