Lady Slipper Orchid Paphiopedilum primulinum

Paphiopedilum primulinum M.W. Wood & P. Taylor 1973 is a terrestrially, in humus on limestone hills, growing Lady Slipper Orchid, native to Sumatra, Indonesia.


The erect inflorescences of Paphiopedilum primulinum get lengths up to about 30 cm and carry several, small flowers, which open successively. The yellow-greenish flowers reach a size of about 4 cm in diameter. Flowering period: Summer. Paphiopedilum primulinum lady slipper orchids are protected by CITES Appendix I (threatened with extinction, trade only in exceptional circumstances). The terrestrial orchid (ground orchid) requires intermediate to warm temperatures and moderate bright light.
