Oncidopsis Bartley Schwarz (synonym: Miltonidium Bartley Schwarz) is an epiphytic growing orchid hybrid, a crossing between Oncidopsis Red Pali (seed parent) and Oncidium Honolulu (pollen parent).
Oncidopsis Bartley Schwarz (Beall), hybridized by Beall, has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society by G.R.Baker in the year 1986. The fragrant, ruby-white flowers get a size of about 4-6 cm in diameter. Spikes carry up to about 15 flowers. Flowering period: May - July. Oncidopsis, abrreviated Oip. in horticultural trade, is the nothogenus (hybrid genus) for intergeneric crossings between the Oncidiinae orchid genera Oncidium and Miltoniopsis. Oncidopsis Bartley Schwarz (Miltonidium Bartley Schwarz) orchid hybrids require intermediate to warm temperatures and bright light. Full midday sun should be avoided.
Plants should be potted in a well-drained potting medium and should be kept moist, but not wet, as they`re very prone to root rot Reduce watering and fertilizing during the winter rest. The Oncidopsis Bartley Schwarz orchid hybrid is considered as an easy to care orchid and can be recommended for orchid beginners.
