The epiphytic or lithophytic growing orchid species Cattleya forbesii Lindl. 1821 is native to Brasil, where it´s found near rivers and the sea coast.



The Cattleya forbesii orchid species has been named by the famous botanist Sir John Lindley in honour to the English Orchid collector Forbes. The long-lasting and fragrant flowers of this Cattleya orchid beauty reach a size from 6 - 11 cm. Flowering period: Autumn - Spring. Cattleya forbesii orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
