The Drymoda siamensis Schltr. 1906 is an epiphytic growing
miniature orchid endemic to North Thailand and Laos.
The plant is growing at elevations from 600 to 900 meters.
We nearly overlooked this beautiful, but very small orchid,
the flowers reach a size of just about 1,5 cm.
We found that orchid beauty in a small orchid shop,
specialized on orchid species at Kamthieng Market Chiang Mai,
but the price of 500.- Baht was to much for our wallet, what a pity.
The owner of the shop told us the Drymoda siamensis is quite difficult to find
and we never saw this small and cute orchid before.
Flowering period: February – March
