The Rhynchostylis gigantea (Lindl.) Ridl. orchid was first described
by the English botanist John Lindley.
The beautiful and highly fragant Rhynchostylis gigantea orchid,
commonly called The Giant Rhynchostylis or Foxtail Orchid is endemic to
Burma (Myanmar), Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam,
Indonesia and the Philippines.
The inflorescences can reach a length up to 40 cm
and sprouts up to 50 flowers.
Size of the flowers: 2,5 cm
Flowering Period: December – February
