Parodia haselbergii (F. Haage) F.H. Brandt 1982 (Brasilicactus haselbergii (F. Haage) Backeb. ex Schaff. 1942), commonly called Scarlet Ball Cactus or White Web Ball Cactus is a small plant from the cactus family (Cactaceae), native to the Brazilian states Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The Scarlet Ball Cactus get a height of just about 15 cm. The beautiful, small bright orange, sometimes red colored flowers appear in late winter to mid spring. The Parodia haselbergii (Brasilicactus haselbergii) cactus is protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The Scarlet Ball Cactus requires moderate waterings all around the year and a location in partial shade to shade. Avoid too much heat during the summer months.
