Vanda luzonica Loher ex Rolfe 1915 is an epiphytic growing orchid species, native to the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Inflorescences of the magnificent. white orchid with purple spots and markings, get lengths up to 40 cm and carry up to 25 flowers. The fragrant flowers reach a size up to 7 cm. Flowering period: Summer.The rare Vanda species is quite large, reaching a size up to 1 meter, whist leaves can get lengths up to 50 cm. As one of the orchids natural main habitat, the Pinatubo volcano area, was devastated during a volcano eruption, Vanda luzonica is very difficult to find in the wild and is protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid requires warm temperatures, bright light or full sunlight
and a well drained potting medium.
