Spathoglottis eburnea Gagnep. 1931, with its ivory-white flowers, is a terrestrially growing orchid species (ground orchid) native to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. In Thailand, the Spathoglottis eburnea orchid, categorised by the French botanist François Gagnepain (1866–1952), is called Ban Duck. Flowers reach a size of about 3 - 4 cm in diameter. Flowering period: August. Spathoglottis eburnea orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival).
