Vandachostylis Thai Sky (synonym:Vascostylis Thai Sky) is an epiphytic growing orchid hybrid, a crossing between the cultivars Vandachostylis Charlotte Oestreicher (seed parent) and Vandachostylis Tham Yuen Hae (pollen parent). The bright purple colored orchid hybrid has been developed and registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 1992 by Suphachadiwong, an orchid breeder from Thailand. Flowers of Vandachostylis Thai Sky get a size of about 4-5 cm. The tropical, intergeneric, multiple generation orchid hybrid is considered as easy to care, The plant requires intermediate to warm temperatures, bright light or full sun and a well drained potting medium. If the tropical orchid hybrid didn`t get enough light, especially during the winter rest, it will not set flowers.
Flowering period: April – June. The nothogenus Vandachostylis, abbreviated Van. in horticultural trade, is a crossing between Vanda orchids and Rhynchostylis orchids.
