Coelogyne brachyptera Rchb. f. 1881 is an epiphytic growing orchid species, native to Myanmar (formerly Burma), Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Flowers get a size of about 5 cm in diameter. Inflorescences of Coelogyne brachyptera reach lengths of about 20 cm and carry up to 7 fragrant, simultaneously opening flowers.
Flowering period: March - April. Coelogyne brachyptera orchids are protected by CITES Appendix II (trade controlled to avoid use incompatible with species survival). The tropical orchid species requires cool - warm temperatures and a location in partial shade. Plants should be kept moist, but not wet.
