07/11/2012

Paphiopedilum Delrosi is a terrestrial growing, primary lady slipper orchid hybrid, a crossing between the species orchids Paphiopedilum delenatii (seed parent)
and Paphiopedilum rothschildianum (pollen parent).

The beautiful pink (rose) and white lady slipper orchid hybrid has been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in the year 1961 by Vach.& Lec. Flowers of this stunning orchid hybrid reach a size of about 15 cm. Flowering period: Spring - Summer. Paphiopedilum Delrosi requires intermediate temperatures (day: about 25 - 28 ° C night: about 15° C) and moderate light or partial shade. To induce blooming watering should be restricted during the winter rest, the plant should be kept cooler at about 12 ° C and should be exposed to bright light for 9 - 12 hours daily. The Lady Slipper Orchid Paphiopedilum Delrosi is a quite precious and expensive plant, whilst young plants cost about 30 - 40 US$, we saw mature plants at prices from 200 US$ up.
