The Cattleya intermedia Graham 1828 orchid species has been categorised
by the Scotish botanist and Regius Keeper (1820–1845)
of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
Robert Graham (1786 – 1845). Cattleya intermedia,
with its big (about 13 cm), fragrant and long-living flowers
is native to Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
This Cattleya orchid beauty is growing on trees (epiphytic)
or on rocks (lithophytic), preferably in Atlantic coastal forests.
