Psychopsis papilio Oncidium papilio Butterfly Orchid

The Butterfly Orchid (Oncidium papilio Lindl./Psychopsis papilio Lindl. H.G.James)
is the most spectacular orchid we ever became before the lens.
We discovered this outstanding orchid at an orchid exhibition
at the Ratchaphruek Festival 2009 in Chiang Mai/North Thailand.
The Butterfly Orchid, also called The Butterfly Psychopsis is endemic to Ecuador,
Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela, Peru, Columbia and northern Brazil.
The flowers grow up to a size of about 15 cm.
